Hi there!    Welcome to ...

Step 5

Checking Domain Availability ...
On this page I'll tell you how to check whether your domain name is still available.

But before you go there, let me tell you a bit about what to expect.

  • Type the first or favorite option you wrote on your sheet of paper into the text area provided.
  • Leave the choice of ending on "ALL".
  • Click on Check it!
  • A page will come up telling you what's available.
  • Write down all the available endings for your domain name.

What usually happens,
is that you may have to try several others of your options in turn
to get the best idea of how to make a good choice.

When you've tried several options
and seen what's available,
then write down the available options that you like and
consider them when you have a quiet moment to think.

My advice is ..

take your time picking the best option for your domain name because you'll be stuck with it for at least one year.

A good question to ask yourself is:

Will I still like this domain name
a week / a month / a year from now?

However, if you take too long to decide,
your choice may be gone by the time you try to register it.
So think it over for a day or two - maximum: one week.

When you've made the pick,
then you need to take the plunge.
